1. Le Tombeau du Géant

Near Bouillon – iconic viewpoint.

You can follow a couple of beautiful walking routes to Le Tombeau du Géant. From Botassart, on the banks of the Semois, you can choose from two short walking routes of around 3 to 4 kilometres to the viewpoint. Fancy a longer walk? From Bouillon, you can also take a longer 13-kilometre walking route. This route takes you through woods, fields and beautiful viewpoints and ends at the viewpoint of the Giant’s Tomb.

2. Rochehaut Staircase Walk

The Rochehaut Staircase Walk is a walk of around 5 kilometres. The route takes you through a wooded landscape featuring steps and small bridges. The walk offers a stunning view over the Semois Valley.

3. Tables des Fées

A beautiful walk in the Membre-Bohan National Park. Discover the legendary sites of the Chatelet, La Cheminée (the Chimney) and La Table des Fées (the Table of the Fairies). A succession of picturesque monoliths with impressive views of the Semois.

4. The loop from Vresse-sur-Semois to Mouzaive

This lovely walking route starts in Vresse-sur-Semois and follows the Semois river through the stunning countryside of the Vallée de la Semois National Park. The path is easy to walk and suitable for all ages. The Moulin de Mouzaive is also well worth a visit. You can park in the car park in Vresse-sur-Semois.

5. The Frahan Gorges Loop

The Frahan Gorges Loop is a popular walk in the Semois Valley, known for its impressive views and the opportunity to experience the changes in altitude. The route starts in Rochehaut and takes walkers across the Semois to Frahan, offering stunning views of the impressive natural landscape of the Vallée de la Semois National Park. The route is fairly challenging and takes an average of 1.5 to 2 hours, with an elevation gain of 233 metres. It is a circular route with the same start and finish points, meaning you follow a single route without having to walk back along the same path. The best time to visit this route is from July to November, when nature is in full bloom. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead. 6. The walk to the Roche de Saloru

The walk to the Roche de Saloru offers two well-signposted routes that take you to the summit.

  • The shortest walk starts at the church in Membre and is marked with a red-white-red rectangle (number 19). This route is challenging, with steep climbs.
  • Another option is to start from the village of Laforêt via a different marked route.

7. The walk to the Pont de Claies

The walk to the Pont de Claies offers a unique experience, covering a distance of 3.5 km, and is ideal for a family walk. At the end of the walk, you pass through the village of Cornimont before, after the only steep climb, reaching your starting point in Gros-Fays.
