Hiking in the Ardennes near Bohan

New in 2026: the Passerelle de Kelhan
The Passerelle de Kelhan, between Bohan and Membre, is one of the new highlights for hikers in the area.
This seasonal footbridge allows walkers to cross the Semois and forms part of a hiking route between Bohan and Membre. The walk combines nature with local heritage and can include the old railway tunnel and the remains of the Broken Bridge of Bohan.
The route is around 6 kilometres long and includes some natural and steeper sections, so good walking shoes are recommended.
The bridge is seasonal and is removed outside the main season. Check its current accessibility before setting off.
Jambon Viewpoint: a spectacular panorama over the Semois
The Jambon Viewpoint, located between Bohan and Membre, is one of the beautiful viewpoints in the area. From here, you can enjoy a spectacular view over a long bend of the Semois River. The shape of the river resembles a ham, which explains the viewpoint’s unusual name.
The viewpoint is surrounded by wooded hills and natural rock formations. Nearby, you can discover places such as Le Châtelet, La Cheminée and the Table des Fées.
Since 2025, the viewpoint has also featured a new viewing footbridge extending out over the landscape, offering an even more impressive perspective over the Semois valley.
The Jambon Viewpoint can be reached via walking route no. 18, making it a great addition to a hike around Bohan and Membre.
The Table des Fées walk from Bohan
The Table des Fées is one of the distinctive walks around Bohan.
The route takes you past several legendary rock formations, including Le Châtelet, La Cheminée and La Table des Fées. From the higher sections of the trail, you can enjoy beautiful views over the Semois valley.
Depending on the route, the loop is around 4.3 to 5 kilometres and includes some rocky and steep sections.
The Florenville Himalayan footbridge – new in 2026
There is another new attraction for hikers in Sainte-Cécile near Florenville.
The Himalayan footbridge was officially opened on 20 June 2026. It crosses the Semois valley for around 184 metres and hangs approximately 30 metres above the river.
The bridge can be combined with a longer walk through the surrounding forests. One route of around 7.5 kilometres includes the footbridge and the Roche du Chat viewpoint.
It makes a great day trip from Bohan for anyone looking for a different hiking experience in the Ardennes.

The Semois is the common thread running through many walks in the area. Some trails follow the river, while others climb into the hills and offer panoramic views over the valley.
