The best restaurants in and around Bohan

Anyone coming to Bohan does not have to look far for good food. On the central village square, Place Henri de la Lindi, a handful of cosy restaurants and cafés with terraces cluster together, and in the surrounding villages you will find addresses for both a quick lunch and an elaborate dinner. Here are our favourites.

Cosy restaurants in Bohan itself

Au Petit Chaudron (Place Henri de la Lindi 5): a fixture in Bohan serving classic Belgian dishes with excellent mussels and spare ribs. Booking is recommended in high season.

La Folie Douce (Place Henri de la Lindi 8): an atmospheric café-brasserie with a wide selection of speciality beers and cocktails, a prime spot on the church square and dog-friendly service (there is even a water bowl ready). Brunch by arrangement.

Au Bon Vieux Temps (Place Henri de la Lindi 30): an authentic village café with affordable meals, friendly owners and a large terrace. Ideal for a quick lunch during a walk.

L’Autentico (Rue du Pont 1): an Italian restaurant in Bohan with large pizzas and homemade pasta. A good option if you fancy something other than Belgian classics.

Dining in Vresse-sur-Semois and surroundings

Le Relais de Vresse (Rue Albert Raty 73, Vresse): known for its game dishes and local trout, with a spacious terrace and a view. An established name in the Semois valley.

Worth a trip

Au Vieux Tournay (Membre, 5 km from Bohan): a cosy brasserie in a restored village building, with its own house speciality (Hamburger au Vieux Tournay) and an extensive beer list.

Le Troquet Plage (Chaussée Romaine 5): perfect after a kayak trip or a walk along the Semois. A simple menu, a lovely waterside setting and good prices.

Point de Vue (Bouillon, 30 minutes from Bohan): a restaurant with the most impressive panoramic view in the Ardennes, right above the castle of Bouillon. A classic for rounding off a day trip to Bouillon with dinner.

Tips for lunch during your holiday

Always plan your lunch stops a little in advance: many restaurants in the Semois valley close in the afternoon between 14:30 and 18:00, and some are closed one or two days a week outside high season. For a quick bite, the cafés on Place Henri de la Lindi are your safest bet.
